Mdm Ling Bakery Donates S$1 to Breast Cancer Foundation For Every Painted Garden Box Sold

The box carries an original watercolour artwork by Singapore artist Phuay Li Ying, better known as Ying, and it is made to be kept long after Mid-Autumn has passed.

That is our 2026 centrepiece, and it is the part of the collection we are proudest of.

Who is Phuay Li Ying?

Ying is a Singapore artist known for her poetic watercolour interpretations of nature and contemporary Singapore. We partnered with her to design The Painted Garden.

A gift meant to last beyond the festive season called for artwork with lasting significance, and Ying’s work was a natural fit.

Delicate blooms in soft blush, lilac and champagne gold are elevated with elegant foil detailing, turning the box into something closer to a keepsake than packaging.

She designed the set with an abundance of blooms on purpose. Mid-Autumn is a season of reunion, generosity and shared joy, and just as flowers flourish together, the artwork celebrates the warmth of gathering with family and loved ones.

The same artwork carries across The Painted Garden tin and The Painted Garden Duo, so the collection reads as one body of work.

Mdm Ling Bakery is a member of the Singapore Tourism Board’s Made With Passion programme, and working with a Singapore artist on our festive centrepiece sits squarely in that.

Why did Mdm Ling Bakery choose Breast Cancer Foundation?

The brand takes its name from Mdm Ling, a figure who embodies a special kind of warmth, and the universal gesture of bringing something to share.

So when the team looked for a cause to sit behind this year’s centrepiece, one supporting women in Singapore was the natural fit.

“We’ve always made mooncakes for other people’s reunions, and when I picture who they end up with, it’s usually the women, a mother, an auntie, the friend who always hosts. They spend the whole season looking after everybody else, so supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation felt like turning some of that care back towards them. And a gift about home should be painted by someone from home.”

Evelyn Lim, Co-founder of Mdm Ling Bakery

Mdm Ling Bakery is one of Breast Cancer Foundation‘s Pink Partners, and this year’s centrepiece deepens that relationship.

The timing helps too: the festival’s gifting season leads straight into October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This is the second year running that our Mid-Autumn centrepiece carries a cause, after 2025’s SG60 Mooncake Game Box created with APSN.

How much goes to Breast Cancer Foundation?

S$1 from every The Painted Garden Box sold. It goes towards BCF’s work in breast cancer awareness, early detection, and support for patients, survivors and caregivers in Singapore.

To be precise about it, because a charity claim should be precise: the S$1 is tied to the Painted Garden Box specifically. The tin and the Duo carry Ying’s artwork, but the donation applies to the Box.

What is inside the Painted Garden Box?

Four mooncakes, and you choose the combination. The Signature Assorted and Premium Traditional baked ranges are halal-certified and vegetarian.

RangeFlavours
Premium Traditional, Signature Baked Skin with White Lotus PasteTraditional White Lotus with Melon Seeds; Traditional White Lotus with Melon Seeds and Salted Yolk
Signature Assorted, Baked SkinBelgian Double Chocolate; Black Sesame; Peanut Butter; Emerald Pandan Golden Yolk; Red Dates Longan

Contains gluten (wheat), tree nuts, egg and peanuts.

Being able to hand the same box to a colleague who eats halal and a grandparent who wants the classic white lotus is the point. That is what we mean when we say the collection is meant to be inclusive.

A sustainably designed Mid-Autumn box

The Painted Garden Box is designed for keeping and reuse, and it finds a second life storing keepsakes, trinkets and the small things worth saving.

That is deliberate across the 2026 collection, not only this one.

If you want the background on why mooncake gifting carries this much weight in the first place, we wrote about what a mooncake symbolises and about Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 in Singapore.

Can I order the Painted Garden Box for a company gift?

Yes. It is one of the more popular choices for client and staff gifting, partly because the giving-back line is an easy thing to put in a gift note.

We handle bulk orders and delivery through corporate mooncake gifting.

Where to buy

The Painted Garden Box, the tin and the Duo all sit in our Mid-Autumn mooncakes range, alongside the rest of the 2026 collection.

You will also find them at our Jewel Changi Airport flagship and at pop-up booths islandwide. Early-bird prices rise as Mid-Autumn approaches, so ordering sooner costs less.

Every Painted Garden Box sends S$1 to Breast Cancer Foundation. Painted here, given here, and it stays on the shelf afterwards.
